Tour Summary

Day 1     : Arrival in Kathamandu and transfer to a hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2     : Visit Baudha. Then drive to Sankhu and hike from Sankhu to Nagarkot. Overnight in Nagarkot.

Day 3     : Hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. Overnight in DhulikheL.

Day 4     : Breakfast with mountain view in Dhulikhel. Morning visit ancient part of Dhulikhel. Then hike to Namobudhha. Overnight in Namo Buddha.

Day 5     : Morning visit Thrangu Tashi Yangtse monastery and holy sites in Namo Buddha. Then hike from Namo Buddha to Balthali. Overnight in Balthali.

Day 6     : Balthali to Khopasi hike. Then experiencing a local bus to Panauti and visit. Again, a local bus to Parkhalchaur and hike to Lakhuri Bhanjyang. Overnight in Lakhuri.

Day 7     : Hike Lakhuri Bhanjyang to Bhaktapur then visit Bhaktapur. Overnight in Bhaktapur.

Day 8     : Visit Khokana, Bungmati and Patan. Overnight in Patan.

Tour day by day

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu.

Meet and greet at Tribhuvan International Airport. Then transfer to a hotel in Kathmandu and free day. You can visit the tourist area of Kathmandu yourself according to your arrival time. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2

Visit Baudha then drive to Sankhu and hike from Sankhu to Nagarkot. (3 to 4 hours walk)

Today we go to visit Baudha Stupa situated in the east of Kathmandu about 6 km from the center. This is the biggest stupa of Nepal which construction date is still unknown. Once the visit is done, continue drive to Sankhu, a recent municipality seriously hit by the earthquake of 2015. Sankhu is one of the ancient cities of Kathmandu valley where merchant and traveler halted before entering in the city of Kathmandu in ancient epoch. From this small town, we start our hiking to Nagarkot for 3 to 4 hours. The hill is known for view of the Himalayas with sunrise and sunset. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Day 3

Nagarkot to Dhulikhel by foot. (5 to 6 hours walk)

We wake up early in the morning to see the mountains view with sunrise. After breakfast we trek to Dhulikhel, an ancient Newari town, today known as the headquarter of Kathmandu University and tourism, from where we can enjoy a scenic view of the Himalayas with its valley. During this trek we traverse different Tamang villages. Overnight in Dhulikhel
Day 4

Dhulikhel to Namobuddha by foot. (3 to 4 hours walk)

After taking breakfast with panoramic view of Himalayas, we move to Namo Buddha, one of the pilgrimage sites for Buddhist where prince Mahasatva sacrifice himself to save a life of tigress and his 5 cubs. The first part of this hike is full of steps till the summit of the first hill. We can have a scenic view of the valley with luxuriant vegetable fields with Himalaya in clear day during the hike. Day 5

Namo Buddha to Balthali by foot. (3 to 4 hours walk)

Today we visit Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery (a Kagyuling school of Northern Buddhism) and the site where Prince Mahasatva offered himself to save the life of a newly delivered starving tigress and newly born 5 cubs. Then after visiting a stupa, we get down to the valley of Sankhu and continue till the river Rosi and hike up to Balthali. Before arriving the hotel, we cross the village of Brahmain and Chhetri. Overnight in Balthali.
Day 6

Balthali to Lyakuri Bhanjyang by foot and local bus. (4 to 5 hours walk)

Balthali, the village with majority of Brahmin caste, is situated in the plateau just over the Rosi river. The village is known for its paddy and vegetable field where amphitheater like terrace paddy field offers a great view. We start our journey by foot to Khopasi then by local bus up to Panauti. Visit old part of Panauti and its temple and rest houses of medieval period, then drive to Parkhalchaur and by foot from Parkhalchaur to Lyakure Bhanjyan crossing different villages. Overnight in Lyakure Bhanjyang.
Day 7

Lyakure Bhanjyang to Bhaktapur and visit Bhaktapur. (3 hours walk)

In the morning if the weather is clear we can have a scenic view of the Himalaya in the background with Kathmandu valley. After having breakfast, 3 hours down of hiking to the valley reach in the medieval city of Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur was once the capital of Nepal and is known for its wood carving, temples and brick paved road. This small city has still kept its charm and medieval culture. Afternoon, visit of this town. Overnight in Bhaktapur.
Day 8

Khokana, Bungmati and Patan.

Leave Bhaktapur in the morning to Bungmati and Khokana. Bungmati, an ancient village dated back to the 7th century AD, is known for wood carving. Most of the people from here practice wood carving. Thus, almost all the shop proposes to buy wooden statues or other objects that is made in their own workshop in the corner of the shop where we can see how they carve statues. A half an hour walking distance from Bungmati, another small town named Khokana, a town of newa people, is situated. This is new municipality is famous for producing rapeseeds oil in traditional way. There are still 2 community run oil productions. After these two small villages we move to Patan, a city of fine art and center for the Buddhist studies in the medieval period, is still known for its metal carving. The Darwar Square (Square of Royal Palace), Hiranyavarna Mavavihar (Buddhist monastery with golden façade), Mahabuddha (Temple with thousands of statues buddhas) are important sites to visit. Day 9

Departure from Patan

According to the flight time drive to the airport from hotel to reach 3 hours before flight.
